Resilience, yes that’s what the Somali people are known for; they bounce back from any difficult situations they get in and this drought is no different. As Somalis in the diaspora; we’re the backbone of our people and it is our role to get them out of this crisis as we are all accountable in front of god before them. We don’t need evidence and statistics or big NGOs to give us figures to realise the actual impact of this crisis. Years of war and instability have left millions of people in Somalia vulnerable, and now they face deteriorating conditions and lack of rain. Alleviate the silent cries of the desperate and despairing children and adults in Somalia.
Currently an impressive forum consisting of 9 well established Somali NGOs in the UK are working together under one umbrella to deliver aid in large scale to the most affected areas in Somalia. All proceeds and donations will be put in one pot. More information will follow shortly!
How can you get involved?
No matter what age, background or ethnicity you belong to, your help is extremely valued. We’re in dire need of people to initiate events big or small, it doesn’t matter. If you can’t do so than your time is valued, why not volunteer to take up roles in upcoming events? If you have previous experience on best ways to fundraise get in touch with us. All the tips will be updated here. For more information check below.
